What we collect

Decide exists to help teams make better decisions. Your data is what makes that possible, and we take its protection seriously. We collect the information you provide when you create an account (name, email address, and password), the content you create within the product (decisions, topics, reviews, and votes), and basic usage data to help us understand how the product is being used and how to improve it.

We collect anonymous usage analytics — things like which features are used, how often, and where users encounter friction. This data is never tied to your name or email address.

How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to operate the Decide service. We use your email to send you transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets, follow-up reminders) and, if you opt in, product updates.

Your data is never sold to third parties. Full stop.

Your data is never used to train AI models — including our own or any third-party models. The content of your decisions and reviews is yours.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on secure, encrypted servers. We use industry-standard practices including encrypted connections (TLS), hashed passwords (bcrypt), and access controls to protect your information.

We use Anthropic's API to generate AI-powered debate reviews. The content of your topics and decisions is sent to Anthropic's API solely for the purpose of generating your review. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their own privacy policy, which prohibits using API inputs to train models.

Your rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile, decisions, reviews, votes, and all other data we hold about you. This cannot be undone.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication (to keep you signed in). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
